Hey There,
Hopefully, you are here because you have experienced Revolutionary Love. Either you have been given a card along with some example of how Jesus loves you with no strings attached, or you just shared Jesus love in a Revolutionary way. Regardless, we want to know about your experience… click on the comments link above and tell us your story…
Yesterday I met some friends for lunch, and the waitress just had the sweetest spirit. We really wanted to bless her, so we left her a 60% tip and a Revolutionary Love card. I had parked in a pay lot for lunch, so on the way out I handed the attendant a card, and enough money to cover the car behind me. I got such a charge out of that experience that I decided to buy bagels for my office this morning. Revolutionary Love has definitely blessed me over the past couple of days!
This morning I was in Fuquay so I decided to go by Chick-fil-A drive thru. While in line I noticed a van behind me that appeared to have a mother with two small children. I was thinking how many parents are on tight budgets and I thought this would be an ideal time to show the love of Christ. Not far behind that van was a truck that was driven by a local firefighter as his vehicle was marked with a fire station license plate attached to the front bumper. I decided that I would purchase two meals. I approached the cashier, told her my plan and with a smile she took my money. The cashier handed me my change and my meal but I received more change back than expected because she handed me a Revolutionary Love card….from Bethel! Someone ahead of me bought my meal. What is God up to?
I received an email from another member who left the following…
What?! I was the one who gave the card that you got! I went to Chick-Fil-A this morning with 7 Revolutionary Love cards, each with $5 inside. I gave them to the person at the counter, and she gave them to the next 7 customers in the drive-through line, of which you were one. That is totally awesome, to be able to immediately read about the results. Made my day!
I think it is really great to see the church do something to simply serve people. I also like what it says on the inside of the cards, that Jesus paid for sins that were not his.
Sometimes on my way to work I stop in the huge metropolis of Coats at the community hangout, commonly known as – T-Mart. I have always joked around with the ladies that work there and was surprised when one of them suddenly showed up at the T-Mart in the very small, nearby town of Angier!! [Yes - I share my niceness around to all T-Marts in the area.] Anyhoo – - – I gave her the Revolutionary Love card with a small gift and I hope it blessed her – she really deserves it!!
This is way too much fun! I am now planning my next adventure……
Well I actually have two separate stories I would like to share. Like any other day I was driving on 401 in Fuquay and we happen to be coming up on the that pretty arch in the sky known as “MCDONALDS”. My small one in the back yelled out chicken, fries, coke and a toy so I decided to pull in. I got up to the drive thru gave my order and proceeded to pay when I noticed a red suv had pulled in behind me,so I shuffled thru my wallet to pull out my debit card and decided to give this Revolutionary love thing a try. I ask the man to put her order on my card and gave him the card. I explained to him what it was I was doing, the look on his face spoke volumes alone!! What a WONDERFUL AWESOME experience that was. What a double blessing I received that day.Next, to the lady who paid for the parking in Chapel hill last week,YOU ROCK. I pulled up to pay for my parking and it was already paid for.Kudos to you for sharing the love. Being able to give freely to people with no strings attached is wonderful,it is a gift to be able to show others the love of Jesus.
Okay, I was just shown Revolutionary Love by a nice lady in a maroon Oldsmobile sports car in the McDonalds drive through in Fuquay. To expose her identity even more, she had a Mark Kay sticker in the window:-)
It was pretty neat. I just finished coaching soccer practice and me and my daughter were buying milkshakes for the family. We were trying to treat the family, but God allowed someone else from Bethel to treat my family.
I was totally surprised and before I was home, my 6 year old already told her mom about it on the cell phone. Plus, when we got home, an unchurched neighbor was waiting to play by the drive way and my daughter asked me to read the Revolutionary Love card to him. I agreed and read the gospel message to my unchurched neighbor.
It really opened the door for me and my daughter to share our faith.
Thanks Bethel Church for showing the love of Christ in a practical way!
On the way out of my house I saw my neighbors trash at her door so I drove it to the dumpster and in place left a revolutionary love card. A small gesture but You never know what God will do and when He will do it.
second story…When my co-worker said “let’s go out to eat”, I thought “revolutionary love moment.” At the end of the meal we handed the waitress a 50% tip along with a revolutionary love card. Three things came from this experience, 1) My co-worker who is not a Christian read the card; 2) The waitress’ face lit up as she said thank you; and 3) I was blessed by it. God used me to play a role in someone else’s life just by showing them the love of Christ in a practical way.
In my personal evangelism I really like giving out New Testaments espacially the ones I get second hand from the Gideons that do not cost anything. In my job as a deputy I get to transport alot of prisoners therefore I have a “captive” audience, literally! Monday I was transporting one man in particular to Southern Pines and I shared the gospel very directly with him, gave him a Bible as well as a reading assignment. He allowed me to pray for him, after which he commented how touched he was. Before dropping him off at the destination I gave him a Revolutionary Love card. Three things are great about this. First, he received the Word of God. Second, the card allowed a way for him to have a connection in the future with Bethel. Lastly, it was a way to show Revolutionary Love in an alternate way with out a financial obligation.
I received a report from a member of the following:
“I bought a CVS card for a lady who ended up calling to say how blessed and appreciative she was to receive Revolutionary Love…”
“I left a Revolutionary Love card with my hairdresser… It was great, because she thinks someone else did it…”
“I did 2 Revolutionary Love cards at walmart, It is just so infectious. I find myself smiling and laughing when I think about revolutionary love. I keep trying to think of new and creative ways to share…”
This member also reported of some future plans… she plans to give a rotisserie chicken and a batch of brownies as gifts with a card. What a creative way to share Revolutionary Love.
I was so excited when we began the Revolutionary Love campaign and I couldn’t wait to do it… but I did wait… 2 weekss actually. Everytime I’ve thought about it, I either didn’t go anywhere or don’t have a card when I did. So today after church I was determined that I was going to go for it! It just so happened that I needed gas in my car so I decided this was the perfect opportunity. There is a gas station in Angier that doesn’t have pay-at-the-pump so I took my money in and paid for my gas and then asked the cashier to change some money for me. I then explained to her what I wanted to do and handed her 3 cards with $5 in each and asked her to give them to random people that came in. She was so excited, she asked if she could give one to the people that had just pulled up and asked if I would stay so that she could make sure the people knew that it was from me. I told her that I didn’t want them to know and explained why and then left to go pump my gas. While I was standing at the pump, the lady who had just recieved the card ran out and told the man pumping the gas to add more to it. It was so exciting! This is so much fun!!!
About a month ago, on my daily commute to the office, I stopped for gas at the Exxon on S. Saunders St. in Raleigh to gas up one of Henry Ford’s more recent progeny. I was reduced to using a gift card as my wallet had recently vanished to parts uknown to all (with the likey exception of one three year old, who shall remain nameless). As I was at the pump, James, a black man with long dreadlocks and somewhat dirty clothes, came out of the bushes and asked if I could spare some money as he had not yet eaten. I told him that I would be happy to help, but that I had recently lost my wallet and could only offer him the change that was in my car. I only had 6 cents – which he kindly refused. During the ensuing conversation he revealed that he was recently released from prison in Virginia and was now living in a tent in the woods behind the Kangaroo gas station off on S. Saunders St. He said that he had been charged with begging without a permit and had a court date on 5/12/08. I told him I was a lawyer and even though I didn’t have any money to give him that day that I would be happy to represent him in court.
He showed up in court today and I was able to have the pending charges dismissed. I took him across the street and bought him lunch at Chick-fil-a and put a revolutionary love card in his “to go” bag. He had to bag the lunch and run to catch the bus. I couldn’t help noticing how he took the opportunity to load up on condiments without being rebuked – like he might not see another hot meal for a long time and these would be of some sustenance to him until he did. It is really a blessing to be able to minister to those who have no way of paying you back.
I went to WalMart today and bught 4 gift cards and went around the store and chose 4 random people to give them to. I just said “May I give you a gift?” and handed them a gift card and a Revelutionary Love card. I moved away before I got any reaction. I wished that I had many more to give. It was such fun. I wish I could have hung around and watched but I am too easy to recognize so I left quickly. Maybe I’ll get some response here, but if not I had my fun.
I just have to share this story. At church this morning Pastor Jonathan taught on the ultimate results of Revolutionary Love, one of which is Radical Obedience (obedience that requires a sacrifice from me). Well, not being satisfied with my current level of obedience, I set out after church to practice. So I was driving down the road and I felt impressed to stop at the flea market in town. I thought immediately I would have a chance to do some revolutionary love, so I pulled in. Ten minutes later, I left without giving out a single card. I thought, “What’s going on? Maybe I misinterpreted.” So I pulled into Bojangles to grab some lunch. Yum. As I pulled up to give my order, the lady behind me bumped my car. All thoughts of revolutionary love gone, I got out and to my embarrassment, I made a show of how she had hit my car even though (of course) there was no damage. In my huffy state of mind, God said very clearly “She’s the one.” I just had to laugh. I was immediately humbled. To top it off, I had exactly enough cash to pay for my meal and hers. If I had not stopped at the flea market, none of this would have happened!
I would like to thank the person who bought my breakfast in the drive thru at Biscuitville this morning and showed me Revolutionary Love. I had never heard of such a thing before, but what a wonderful way to share Christ’s love and witness to others.
Well I just have a little something to share about how my son and I decided to share Revolutionary love. Week before last was teacher appreciation week and one of the days they ask the children (parents) to give your teacher flowers or a gift or something. We decided to go with roses for the teacher, extension teachers as well. So all together we gave 12 roses and to each rose we attached a revolutionary love card!! I have to say that I wasn’t sure if I should give the cards with the flowers;you know the whole seperation of church and state. Well any ways we decided to give the cards and just let Jesus handle the rest. P.S. a little Jesus back in the schools wouldn’t hurt either!!
I got my haircut today as is my weekly custom (gotta keep it fresh) and I handed my barbor a revolutionary love card with enough money to cover a haircut, so that he can give the card to the next person ahead of me. Even though he gave it his next customer while I was still standing there (so much for being anonymous) I’m sure it blessed him and the person he gave it to.
Spreading the love at the Golden arches this week!
Monday I was on my way out of town and decided to grab a coffee from Micky D’s and took the opportunity to share revolutionary love. It’s awesome to see the love of God in action! Especially when I’m a part of it!
I have been able to leave my waitress a nice tip with a Revolutionary Love Card at two locations over the past two weeks. This is so much fun and I look forward to making this something that I think about each day.
There are members of Bethel who show me the revolutionary love of God on a very regular basis. I don’t think they would want to be named here, but I just want to say that I am so blessed to receive the mercy and love that they give to me! May Jesus continue to extend His Kingdom one person at a time until the whole earth is covered with His Glory!
The Bethel Youth Group rev-loved on some folks at Carowinds this past Saturday. On the way to meet the youth group Saturday morning, I stopped at Biscuitville to get breakfast for everyone. The wonderful people there gave me 6 extra biscuits for free and filled up my cooler with ice. So, having been rev-loved myself, I went on to the church. The youth group had the awesome idea of giving the extra biscuits away at a Wal-Mart we passed on the way down to Carowinds. They were up and out of the car lovin’ on Wal-Mart customers and employees. Then we had the opportunity to give a Carowinds ticket to someone at the gate. What a great experience!
